College Profile: National Institute for the Empowerment of Persons with Intellectual Disabilities (Formerly National Institute for the Mentally Handicapped) established in the year 1984 at Manovikasnagar, Secunderabad (TS) is an Autonomous Body under the administrative control of Deparment of Empowerment of Persons with Disabilities (Divyangjan), Ministry of Social Justice & Empowerment, Government of India. NIEPID (Formely NIMH) is dedicated to provide quality services to Persons with Intellectual Disabilities (Divyangjan) in the National interest. NIEPID(Formerly NIMH) has three regional centers located at Noida/ New Delhi, Kolkata, & Mumbai, NIEPID(Formerly NIMH) Model Special Education Center located at Noida/New Delhi. The institute endeavors to excel in building capacities to empower Persons with Intellectual Disabilities (Divyangjan) . Essential Qualification::
1 a) Graduate and Diploma in Special Education (MR) or equivalent with two  years experience of working with  children with mentalretardation.

c) B.R.S.(MR) with specialization in Special Education.
2. RCI registration as personnel/professional in Special  education (MR)
Desirable qualification
3. Should have studied Telugu up to SSC for the position at Special  Education Centre, NIEPID,  Secunderabad.

Statistical Assistant, Level-05:
Essential:
1). Masters Degree in Statistics from recognized University.
Desirable:
Experience of applying statistics in
psychology and education.

relaxable at the discretion of the Selection
Committee in the case of candidates otherwise found well qualified. If a suitable candidate is not  available, the post may be downgraded
Vocational Instructor Gr-II, Level-04:
Essential:
1). 10+2 with DVR (MR)/DVTE (MR)
2) Two years experience in Vocational Training & Rehabilitation in the field  of mental retardation.
3. Valid Registration with RCI as professional/Personnel
Principal:
Essential:
1. Masters Degree in Social Sciences with M.Ed, Special  Education (MR)
2. 10 years experience in the field of Mental Retardation after the  qualification in Special  Education(MR) out of which 5  years should be at TGT level in  Level-6/Rs.4200(GP), in a  Central Govt./State Govt. or  other Institutions.
Desirable:
Preference will be given to candidates who have worked in supervisory  capacity or as Principal of Special  School
Home Visitor/Teacher, Level-06:
Essential qualifications: 
1.Degree from a recognized University.
2.Master’s Degree in Social Work.

The selection procedure for Group ‘A’ posts will be as per NIEPID norms. The selection for the Group ‘B’ & ‘C’ posts will be done based on merit as per the  criteria approved by the Ministry vide Letter F.No.14-13/2015-NI, dated  11.07.2017 by dispensing the interviews as per the instructions of the DOPT vide  OM.No.39020/01/2013-Estt(B)-Part, dated 29.12.2015.
