The College is situated on the Madurai-Theni National Highway at a distance of 3 kms from Usilampatti town. It covers an area of 54.65 acres. The College was inaugurated on 5.7.1968 by Dr. T. P. Meenakshi Sundaranar, the then Vice-Chancellor of Madurai University (presently, Madurai Kamaraj University). The College was founded with Pre University Courses (PUC) and Undergraduate Courses. The Society runs this College with an approved educational agency under Tamil Nadu Private Colleges Regulation Act 1976. The long-time dream of the people of this area, to have a College, comes true by the priceless efforts of the two legends Thiru P. K. Mookkiah Thevar B. A., Ex. M. P and M.L.A., and Thiru. V. K. C. Natarajan, I.A.S. The contribution made by the farmers, the teachers of Kallar and Panchayat Union Schools, the common funds of the Piramalai Kallar Community and the Well-wishers of the community provided assistance to start this institution.
