About University: The foundation of Sanskrit College was laid during the British regime based on a recommendation by HT James Prinsep and Thomas Babington Macaulay. It was under the auspices of Rt. Honorable William Pit Amherst that John Paskal Larkins Esquire, a scholar of oracular knowledge laid the first foundation stone of the college in 1824. H.H. Wilson, the Secretary to the then British Govt., took a major role in establishing this college to impart knowledge of ancient literature, philosophy, Hindu Law, grammar, Indian Culture and to promote the learning of Sanskrit among British officials as well as the Indians

Faculty Posts:
a) Good academic record with Ph.D degree in the relevant discipline.
b) A Post-Graduate degree in concerned discipline with atleast 55% works (or an equivalent grade in a point scale wherever grading system, is in practice).
c) A minimum of 8 (eight) years of experience of teaching and/ or research in an academic/research position equivalent to that of Assistant Professor in a University, College or institution of repute.
d) Publications of research papers of good quality in reputed journals in last 3 (three) years and/or publication of books
e) A minimum score as stipulated in the Academic Performance Indicators (API) based on Performance Based Appraisal System (PBAS), set out in the UGC Regulations 2016 in Appendix III Table II(B). (Refer in advt copy attached in more details)

Salary Package: Rs. 37,400 – 67,000 + AGP 9000/-

How to Apply: 1. a) Application form to be downloaded from the University website www.sanskritcollegeanduniversity.com and no application, except in prescribed Application Form, will be considered.
b) Submit 1 original and 4 photocopies of the filled in Application Form along with the API Score sheets and the Information Sheet and self-attested copies of testimonials.
c) Papers and documents submitted with the application will not be returned under any circumstances.
2. Demand Draft of Rs. 2000/- for General, Rs. 1500 /- for OBC, 1200/-for SC and Rs. 1000/- for ST candidates, payable at Kolkata and drawn in favour of The Sanskrit College and University must be attached along with the Application Form.
Note: Application fees once paid shall not be refunded under any circumstances.
3. The name of the post along with the subject applied for and the Advt. number must be mentioned clearly on the top of the envelope.
