About University: The Court of Directors of the East India Company sent a despatch in July, 1854 to the Governor-General of India in Council, suggesting the establishment of the Universities of Calcutta, Madras and Bombay. In pursuance of that despatch, the University of Calcutta was founded on JANUARY 24, 1857. The University adopted in the first instance, the pattern of the University of London and gradually introduced modifications in its constitution.

Remuneration will be as per the sanction of the funding agency (SERB, DST) and also as per the
norms of the University.
How to Apply: The candidate should bring two separate sets of complete application furnishing bio-data on plain paper along with attested copies of testimonials on the date of interview. Qualification:
Post Graduate degree with 1st Class in Biophysics/Biophysics and Molecular Biology/Biochemistry/Chemistry/Physics/Bioinformatics from a recognized university. Preference will be given to candidates with NET/GATE qualification and having a sound knowledge and experience in the techniques of molecular dynamics simulations, statistical mechanics and quantum chemistry.

Upper Age Limit: 28 years for Junior Research Fellow as on the date of the advertisement, relaxable up to 5 years for Woman/SC/ST/OBC candidates.
