About College: S.I.V.E.T. College came into being at Gowrivakkam in July 1966 in a modestly constructed but adequately equipped building. The College gaining its strength and popularity paved way for the Trust to venture in getting the institution upgraded into a Degree College. University of Madras, within whose jurisdiction the College comes, granted affiliation to B.A. (History) and B.Sc (Mathematics) courses, in 1971 and thus a created landmark in the history of the College. There has been no looking back and the institution further registered significant progress in receiving affiliations from the University of Madras for more major courses at the under-graduate level viz., Economics, Commerce, Physics, Chemistry, Zoology and Corporate Secretary ship.
