Position Summary:
1. Faculty on the tenure track must engage in active independent and team-based research and scholarship in their area of focus, which includes publishing in refereed journals and applying for extramural funding from federal and/or state agencies and private foundations;
2. Teaching (face-to-face or online) in the undergraduate and/or graduate programs (MSN, DNP, PhD);
3. Graduate student advising;
4. Service and leadership on departmental, college and university committees;
5. Community outreach and/or service focused on health disparities in the U.S.-Mexico border region;

6. Involvement in professional organizations in field of expertise.

Required Qualifications:
1. Master’s degree in Nursing and a PhD (or equivalent research doctorate) in Nursing or a related discipline required;
2. Must be eligible for New Mexico nursing license (RN or APRN);
3. Criminal background check required; drug screen required for clinical teaching.

Preferred Qualifications:
1. Record of research and scholarship to qualify for the rank of Assistant Professor in the School of Nursing (i.e., evidence of scholarship; research focus with potential to generate extramural funding);
2. Preference given for health disparities experience and/or research focus;
3. Teaching and mentoring experience;

4. Demonstrated ability to work effectively with faculty, staff, students, and community members from diverse background
