About College : The National Institute of Technology Durgapur (abbreviated NIT Durgapur or NIT DGP) is a central government engineering college located in Durgapur, West Bengal, India. Formerly known as the Regional Engineering College, Durgapur (REC Durgapur), it is among the first 8 Regional Engineering Colleges established in India and was founded in 1960 by the then Chief Minister of West Bengal, Bidhan Chandra Roy. Qualifications:
- For the departments of CH, CE, CS, EC, ME, MM, the candidates must be B.E/B.Tech (or equivalent) in respective discipline with/without M.Tech (or equivalent) and Ph.D in the relevant field.
- For department of EE, the candidate must be B. Tech in Electrical engineering / Electrical & Electronics and with/without M.Tech (or equivalent) and Ph.D in any of the above areas of specialization.
- For the department of BT, the candidates should be Ph.D in any of the above areas of specialization.
- For the departments of MA, CY and PH, the candidates must be Post Graduate in respective discipline and Ph.D in any of the above areas of specialization. Candidates with Post Doctoral experience will be given preference.
- For the department of MS, the candidate must have MBA with Ph.D in any of the above areas of specialization
- For the department of ES, the candidate must be Post Graduate in Geology/Applied Geology and Ph.D in any of the above areas of specialization.
- For the department of HSS, the candidate must have Post Graduate Degree in Economics/Social work(or equivalent) and PhD in any of the above areas of specialization.
