About College: The Jalna Education Society was formed in 1957 with an aim to provide Higher Education to the students of the town and nearby rural areas.   In fact, establishment of a full-fledged College was a long felt need of Jalna.  Being an important commercial town with a population over 70000 and having about 10 High Schools, the students from the town and from the neighboring areas felt the absence of a College for higher education in this town.   As in those days   students had to go to Hyderabad for the purpose of higher education, though a few colleges were started at Aurangabad,  the need for a college in Jalna was continued to be felt.   Efforts to start a college in Jalna  dates back to 1957 when, our First Prime Minister Late Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru visited this place. A purse fund  of Rs.21, 211/- was raised and presented  to him.
