About College: The Central University of Orissa adopted five villages adjacent to the University for its Socio-economic Development on 25th September, 2015. This initiation was taken under the Unnat Bharat Abhiyan, started by the Government of India to bring transformational changes in the rural development process by leveraging knowledge institution to help build the architecture of an inclusive India. Prof. Sachidananda Mohanty, Vice-Chancellor of the University inaugurated "Unnat Bharat Abhiyan" programme of the University, organised at Chikapar village of Sunabeda. Speaking on the occasion Prof. Mohanty said "Charity begins from home" and the development of the University should be started from the local villages. The University announced the adoption of five adjacent villages named Chikapar, Chakarliput, Rajpalama, Balda and Nuaguda.
