Qualifications:
Title: “EEG Acquisition and Analysis”.
About the Project: This DST funded project (under SATYAM) aims to study consciousness 
measures, wellbeing (physiological and psychological) and correlates between brain/cardiovascular complexity and their synchrony in Yoga meditators. This is a multi-institutional project involving NIAS (NIAS Consciousness Studies Programme), National Institute of Mental Health & Neuro Sciences 

(NIMHANS) and Indian Institute of Science (IISc.)
Job description: The JRF position pertains to EEG & ECG data acquisition and analysis. The role will 
involve coordinating with study participants, administering questionnaires and documentation as well as analysis of acquired EEG and ECG signals. Good interpersonal and communication skills are required, as well as basic signal analysis and programming skills. JRF aspirants must be willing to work as part of a multidisciplinary team and be eager to rapidly learn concepts and skills across multiple domains. The work will involve some travel (within Bengaluru city). 
Qualifications for JRF-EEG: 
Graduate/Post Graduate Degree in Professional Course (Electrical/ Electronics & Communication/ 
Computer/ Mathematics/ Information Science or related disciplines) or Postgraduate Degree in 
Basic Sciences with NET Qualification /valid GATE score.
Candidate with experience in Neuroscience / Neurophysiology/ EEG acquisition /Signal 
processing will be preferred. Familiarity with programming in MATLAB/Python is a must.

Familiarity with EEGLAB toolbox is not mandatory, but highly desirable.
Project Duration: 3 years
Project Description: Mathematical aspects of quantum correlations for open systems and mixed states are a fundamental problem in quantum systems that are utilized in quantum information processing.  Much of current work involves algebraic and entropic study of quantum entanglement. This project  addresses dynamic aspects quantum correlations from a geometric perspective, starting from the notion of information geometry and correlations between probability distributions. We wish especially to  study how these correlations evolve during quantum dynamics, and in the measurement process. We  also wish to establish a connection with the lassical limit, which becomes relevant in the quantum- classical transition natural to the measurement process. This study will further aid the process of  recognizing decoherence mechanisms and their control, in particular applications to information  
encoding and decoding.
Essential Qualifications: MSc in Physics with at least 60% marks, qualification of UGC CSIR
NET/GATE exam
Desirable Qualities: Good written and spoken English, interest in mathematical methods of physics including differential geometry and probability theory.

Salary Package:
Rs. 31,000/month for 1st and 2nd year and Rs. 35,000/month for the third year plus HRA as
applicable to Bengaluru, which is currently 24% of the basic fellowship.
