Popularly known as Jijamata College, it is the oldest institution of higher learning in Newasa Taluka of Ahmednagar district in Maharashtra state. The college is permanently affiliated to the Savitribai Phule Pune University and is approved under Section 2 (f) and Section 12 (b) of the UGC act. It is a government aided college. Over the last few years, the College has undergone a massive infrastructural and pedagogical change leading to re- accrediting it with an "B +" grade.
