About School: A munificent donation of Five hundred thousand rupees made to the Shri Vallabhacharya Vidya Sabha, Madras by the philanthropic Dwaraka Doss brothers, the late Shri Jumna Doss and the late Shri Amichand Doss enabled it to found the Dwaraka Doss Goverdhan Doss Vaishnav College, Madras in June 1964. The phenomenal growth of this institution prompted the Sabha to think loudly of expanding its service to education at different levels. A Telugu businessman and great philanthropist, the late Shri Kola Perumal Chetty came forward with a generous donation of four hundred thousand rupees, including a 21-ground land adjoining the College, for starting a first grade English School with modern techniques of teaching blended perfectly with Hindu ethos and culture.
